How to scan
Hold the top of your phone against the checkpoint tag. The app will register it automatically.
Two kinds of record: a SCANNED checkpoint was read from the tag — that is the one that counts as a verifiable patrol record under BS 7499 / BS 7984 (NTAG213 · ISO/IEC 14443-A). A CHECKED one was marked by hand, so it shows you were on the job but not that you stood at the tag.
Either way the time, the job and your name are saved. Use the tag where you can; mark by hand only when a tag will not read, and say why in your report.

This app does not record, store or play site walkthroughs. The clips listed here before were written into the app itself. Nobody at your company filmed them, and they described a site that does not exist — the same six for every site, whichever job you opened them from.
If you were told there was a video showing the way in, the alarm code or the door order — there was not one. Ring the control room and ask.
What is real, and where it is
Open the job on your runsheet. The address, the site instructions and the keyholder’s name and number on that screen come from your company’s own site record, put there by the office.
On an alarm call, the Keys and Instructions tabs on the alarm screen are the same real record. If a site is missing something you need, tell the control room so the office can add it — then it is there for the next guard as well.
Filming something you have found
There is nowhere to upload a site video, so do not rely on this screen to pass anything on. Damage, a break-in or anything else that needs recording goes in an incident report — photos attached to a report are stored properly and the control room can see them.

The app holds no pay at all — not your rate, not your gross, not your tax or National Insurance, and not a payslip for any month. Your payslips come from the office, the way they always have.
If one has not arrived, or a figure on it looks wrong, that is a conversation with the office. Nothing on this screen would help you have it.
What the app does hold: your hours
Every time you clock on and off is recorded, and My Work counts them up from your own records. That is the figure worth checking a payslip against — and if the two disagree, it is worth raising.

Nothing is published to this page and nothing has been. The items that used to be here were written into the app itself — they were not sent by anybody at your company, and none of them were true.
When the office needs to tell everybody something, they send it to Messages, and it arrives there with an unread mark until you have read it. That is the one to watch.

Do not take it from this page. What you are actually rostered for is on Home and in My Roster, and if what you have been told does not match it, ring the control room before you set off.

Fuel Card
Use the card in the vehicle
The fuel card is not in the app
The app does not hold a card, a limit, or what has been spent this month. It cannot pay for fuel and it cannot show you a balance. Use the physical card kept with the vehicle, exactly as you would have before.
If you need to know the limit or what is left on it, ask the office — what they have on record is the only figure that counts.
If you had to pay for fuel yourself
Keep the receipt. There is no form here, because anything typed into it would not reach anybody — and a photo of a receipt taken here would be thrown away. Hand the receipt to the office, or ring them tonight if you are out of pocket.

Vehicle Check
Keep the walkaround on paper
The app does not keep your vehicle check
It does not know which van you are in, what its registration is, or when it was last checked. There is no form here, because a walkaround filled in on this screen would not be saved and nobody at the office would ever see it.
Do the walkaround exactly as you would have before, and put it on the sheet the office keeps. That sheet is the record — this screen is not.
If something is wrong with the vehicle
Ring the control room and tell them. Do not type it in here and do not wait for a reply — nothing typed here reaches anybody, so the phone call is the report.
If you do not believe the vehicle is safe to drive, do not drive it. Say so on that call and let the office decide what happens next.
Damage, servicing and MOT
All of it is the office's, not the app's. There is no way to report damage or book a garage from this phone, and a photo of a dent taken here would be thrown away. Ring it in, or tell them at the end of your shift.

For anything you are deciding right now — especially detaining somebody, or using force — ring the control room and say what you are looking at.

These four notes are general background about the job. They are not your company’s policy, they are not written for the situation you are in, and they are not legal advice. Where a note and your control room disagree, the control room is right.
Powers of arrest
An SIA-licensed officer has the same power of citizen’s arrest as any member of the public, under Section 24A of PACE 1984. In broad terms it applies to an indictable offence, where you have reasonable grounds, and where it is not reasonably practicable for a constable to make the arrest instead. Call 999 immediately, and use no more force than is necessary. This is background, not a decision. Ring the control room.
Use of force
Force must be reasonable, necessary and proportionate in the circumstances. De-escalate first. Use the least you can. Report every single instance to the control room straight away, and write it up the same night while you still remember it — an account written a week later is worth very little.
Writing an incident report
Date, time and exact location. Your name and SIA number. Who was involved and what they looked like. What happened, in the order it happened — facts, not what you reckon. What you did and why. Who else saw it. The police reference if there is one.
Mobile patrol duties
Complete every visit you are given. Check the access points are secure. Check the alarm is set, or unset, as it should be. Write up every visit, not just the ones where something happened. Report anything out of the ordinary to the control room while you are still on site.

Licence & Training
Your SIA licence
Training and CPD
Not held in this app
Your course records, certificates and renewal dates are kept by the office, not here. Ask them for a copy if you need one — for a client audit, or for your own file.
The app will not tell you a course is in date. If a certificate matters for the work you are being sent to, check the certificate.
This app cannot reset your password
It does not send reset emails. Your account was made for you by your company’s office, and only they can set a new password on it.
If you are due on shift now
Ring your control room on the number you were given when you started, and tell them you are locked out. They can see your shift and cover the site. Do not stand at the gate waiting for an email.
Worth trying first
Caps Lock, and a space picked up at the end when the phone autocompleted your email. Use the eye icon to read the password back before you press Sign In.
You work for a security company
Your employer sets your account up. Ask the office or your control room
to add you; they will give you the email address and password to use.
You cannot make your own account here. An account has to be attached to a company before it can show you a single job, so one made on this screen would sign in to an empty app.
You run a security company
Email us and we will set your company up and add your first users.
We do not check SIA licences
The app stores the licence number and expiry date your office enters, and shows them back to you. It is not checked against the SIA register. Checking a licence is still your employer’s job and yours.

Which screens this phone shows
Mobile Patrol Officer
Mobile patrol puts Runsheet and Alarms in the bar at the bottom. Static guarding puts Patrol Rounds and Notices there instead. Every other screen stays reachable from Home either way. It changes this phone only — nobody in the office sees it, and it does not change your rota or your pay.
Alerts and sounds
The app cannot wake your phone
It only makes a sound while it is open. There is nothing to switch on here that would change that. If you are waiting to be sent to something, keep the app open and keep the phone where you will see it.
The check-in chime is set by the control room
How often you are reminded to check in, and whether it chimes, is set in the control room — not on your phone. If it is sounding at the wrong time, or not at all, tell them.
A scanned checkpoint buzzes, on Android
One short buzz when a checkpoint saves, so you know it took without looking. iPhones do not let a web app buzz, so on an iPhone go by the tick on screen.
